PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS

Picture
Hello and War Eagle! My name is Jaylin Hubbert and I have the pleasure of serving as the President of the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Thank you for taking the time to view our chapter website!

The founders of this great organization were sure to highlight the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, and service. In 1974, the charter members of this chapter sought to bring these founding principles to Auburn University by starting the Kappa Upsilon Chapter, making us the first predominately African-American sorority on campus. Since our chartering, the Kappa Upsilon chapter has embodied our founding principles, sisterhood, scholarship, and service in many different aspects. The chapter has shown sisterhood through its members with monthly bonding activities and through the community with various physical and mental health events. The members of Kappa Upsilon have shown scholarship by excelling not only in the classroom, but by also participating and holding positions in extracurricular activities like Black Student Union, the National Society of Black Engineers, and Auburn Track and Field. Finally, the chapter has proven that service is at our forefront by hosting and completing numerous amounts of service projects.

I am so excited to share all of the chapter’s accomplishments through this website. Feel free to explore the rich history of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (more information can be found on www.deltasigmatheta.org) as well as our chapter during your time here. I hope that our website truly inspires and informs you of the great work Kappa Upsilon continues to produce.

Thanks again,

Jaylin S. Hubbert
